First time buyer magazine readers and expert panel commend Metropolitan at top sector awards

Metropolitan’s Home Ownership service was highly commended in two award categories, at this year’s First Time Buyers Readers’ Awards.

The awards judged by a panel of industry experts and readers, recognises achievement and excellence by housing associations and private developers in the provision of affordable homes.

Metropolitan was nominated in the Affordable Housing Provider of the Year, Best Social Integration Project and Best Urban Regeneration Project categories and was highly commended in the Best Social Integration Project and Best Urban Regeneration Project categories.

Metropolitan's Best Social Integration Project entry featured a landmark development in Hackney which has proved popular with buyers and renters alike.

The Reliance Wharf site in Hertford Road N1 has provided much needed, high quality, affordable homes across a range of tenures (private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent) in an attractive, waterside setting in one of the most sought-after areas in London.

Metropolitan Clapham Park was submitted in the Best Urban Regeneration category describing a remarkable transformation – one of the largest the capital has seen – and the reinvention of Clapham Park as a highly desirable location for 21st century London parkland living.

Home Ownership Director Bernie Conroy said:

“We are incredibly honoured that the panel and the magazine’s readers recognised the hard work and care that we build into our homes to create attractive places to live for a range of different customers.  It's a real credit to a hardworking team who take pride in every aspect of the work we do, and showcases our delivery to partners, residents and suppliers alike. The First Time Buyer Magazine Readers Awards are important because they give first time buyers, our customers, an opportunity to get involved."

The First Time Buyer Readers Awards event was held at London’s Landmark Hotel on Friday 26 April and was hosted by TV's Nikki Chapman.
