Make it a date! Visit the Homematch Property Show

8 May 2013

Metropolitan's new service, Homematch, unveils details of its inaugural home show to help Londoners meet their perfect home for less.

If you're looking to buy your own home but thought owning a property was simply a pipedream, then the Homematch Property Show might be an event that's up your street.

The expo, which is free to enter, takes place on Saturday the 15th of June at The Hotel Russell in Russell Square and will feature hundreds of affordable and brand new properties in all areas of the capital.

The Homematch Property Show is the inaugural event of Homematch which launched in April 2013. The aim of the event is to bring housing providers and home seekers together in a unique hub which acts as a unique opportunity for Londoners to find out more about low cost home ownership options such as Shared Ownership and talk to the experts about homes available.

Homematch users have access to a subscription-free website, www.homematch.org.uk,  listing detailed guidance on all types of properties – from flats to family homes - plus there are explanations on affordability levels and financial advice.  Homematch also provide a 9 to 5 live advice line on 0845 230 8099, which helps potential home buyers better understand what housing options are available to them and what they should do next.

Potential home buyers who complete the Homematch application form will have their eligibility for low cost home ownership pre-assessed, offering a head-start when it comes to buying a home. Homematch also align details of applicants to housing providers who have homes that meet their needs to help match customers to their perfect home, speeding up the property search process.

Colin McLennon, Head of Home Ownership Services at Metropolitan, who oversees the Homematch service says:

"This is what buyers need right now. In the first month that Homematch was launched, we had over 14,000 unique visitors – which gives just a small insight into the demand for affordable London living. With private rents increasing and the relative scarcity of social housing, what we're offering is an opportunity for would be first time buyers who are struggling to get onto the property ladder and other priced out Londoners to take a step closer to meeting their  home ownership aspirations.”

Displays, presentations and one-on-one access to IFAs are some of the highlights that will run throughout the day, but the main draw will be the range of attractive homes on offer from housing providers including Metropolitan, Notting Hill Housing, Triathlon (developers of East Village) and A2 Dominion.

"Because Homematch works with a range of trusted housing providers, the new properties on show are of a high standard and specification, offering security and peace of mind. We're inviting all those who thought they couldn’t afford to live in London to think again and visit us this June – their dream property might just be waiting for them at the Home Show."

Numbers are expected to be high so readers are urged to register now at the event registration website at http://homematchshow.eventbrite.co.uk
