Metropolitan’s home ownership team has been shortlisted in two award categories, at the inaugural National Housing Awards.

The awards judged by a panel of industry experts and residents, recognises success by housing associations, private developers and their partners and suppliers in the provision of affordable homes.

Metropolitan was nominated in the Excellence in Customer Service and Best Partnership categories.

Metropolitan's Excellence in Customer Service submission ‘Putting customers first’ focussed on the home ownership team’s performance in 2012/2013 which saw them achieve some impressive performance statistics, including 111 customer compliments, 100% satisfaction levels in new home surveys and answering 91.4% of 89,050 calls within 20 seconds.

In the Best Partnership category, Metropolitan’s work in partnership with Newham Council designing and delivering ‘Newshare’ at a small development called ‘The Sherwoods’, gained recognition. ‘Newshare’, an equity loan product, helped six local households on a range of low and moderate incomes enter home ownership affordably.

Home Ownership Director Bernie Conroy said:

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in two service-based categories this year as it shows that Metropolitan’s home ownership team is getting recognition for being highly customer-focused, innovative when it comes to meeting housing need for being and good to work with. I’d like to thank our customers, partners and our staff for their contribution to this success.”

The National Housing Awards will be held at the Lancaster London Hotel on September 12.
