Metropolitan’s Homematch service has been shortlisted for a nationally recognised award for ‘Best Housing Alliance’ at this year’s First Time Buyer Magazine Reader’s Awards.

Described as the place where ‘Londoners meet their perfect home for less’, Homematch is a free service for priced-out Londoners, providing a property search website at www.homematch.org.uk, a customer advice line 0845 230 8099 and highly popular property show events.  Homematch offers information on, and a route to applying for, homes available through low cost home ownership such as Shared Ownership and less than market rent options such as ‘Intermediate Rent’.

During the last year, the Home Ownership team at Metropolitan who run the service have worked with a range of housing providers and Local Authority partners since its launch in April 2013, notching up some impressive achievements and positive customer feedback along the way:

  • Over 12,000 registered users with the service
  • Received over 136,000 visits online
  • A 9 out of 10 recommendation rating from surveyed customers
  • Delivered London-wide composite advertising campaigns to help raise the profile of low cost home ownership developments cost-effectively
  • Has over 3000 tickets downloaded for its next property show (being held on February 8)

The ‘Best Housing Alliance’ category recognises partnerships formed by housing providers who help improve communities through innovative solutions to promoting home ownership, community development and housing quality.

Bernie Conroy, Metropolitan’s Home Ownership Director was delighted with the nomination:

“We’re really pleased to see Homematch achieve this recognition. We originally had the idea for the service back in 2004, so to develop it, see it gain momentum and help make a difference for Londoners looking to buy or rent a home they can afford has been both rewarding and a real testament to the excellent partnership working that our team has delivered with our client businesses.”

The awards ceremony will be held at London’s Landmark Hotel on April 25.
