Partners celebrate success at the Cavendish Building

Metropolitan Clapham Park this month celebrated the launch of the stunning new Cavendish Building, which lies at the heart of one of London’s biggest and most exciting regeneration schemes.

The Cavendish Building, which showcases modern and contemporary architecture over five storeys, boasts affordable apartments in an up-and-coming area. Homes have already sold quickly with people eager to snap up the opportunity of 21st century leafy London living.

Started in 2006, the Clapham Park Estate Regeneration will see 3,226 homes built or refurbished over 150 acres by 2025. When complete, there will also be a host of open spaces and community facilities as well as shops, cafes and restaurants.

The Cavendish Building is the latest completion on the site and contains 120 homes overlooking the development’s central green, offering opportunities for outright sale, shared ownership and rent. Residents moved in in April this year and are already seeing the benefits of living at Clapham Park.

Nighat Khan, who lives in the Cavendish Building, said:

“I am very happy in my new home. Security-wise and size-wise it’s wonderful and the staff are always there to help if you need something.”

Brian Johnson, CEO of Metropolitan, said:

“I am blown away by what’s happening at Metropolitan and Clapham Park. There is a real sense of drive, energy and spirit. We are now picking up the pace – people have been patient, but now we are delivering on the ground.”

Christine Turner, Chair of Clapham Park Board, added:

“The Cavendish Building has a real wow factor! It is all about the future for Clapham Park and what we aspire to provide for all our residents.”
